Hunter Rugby 2021 Season Announcement

Hunter Rugby – 27th August 2021

Dear All Hunter Rugby Clubs, Life Members & Affiliates,

Based on a recommendation received from NSW Country Rugby late on Thursday 26 August and in the interest of the wider Community the NHRU has regrettably cancelled the remainder of the 2021 season. NHRU would like to extend a big thank you to all clubs, players, coaches, team managers, referees, volunteers and Club Committees for all efforts contributing to the 2021 season.

The season was progressing well with good evenness in all competitions, and we all share in the disappointment of being unable to complete the 2021 competitions in their entirety. The outcome is the unfortunate reality of the obstacles the pandemic continues to throw at the community.

Our priority remains supporting our clubs, players, officials, and volunteers through these challenging circumstances and focusing on preparing for playing Rugby again in 2022. We are already planning for this.
