VALE GRAHAM “SLEEPY” COWAN
VALE GRAHAM “SLEEPY” COWAN
It is with great sorrow that we advise the passing away of Graham “Sleepy” Cowan this morning.
His daughter Trish and great friend Andrew Walker advised that Sleepy passed away after listening to his favourite band, The Beach Boys, play “Wouldn’t it be Nice”….
All NHRU Clubs will be observing a minute’s silence before today’s 3.00pm games.
Sleepy has been an outstanding and loyal ‘rugby servant’ at grass roots level for ‘many a year’. Especially noteworthy are his ‘tenures of excellence’ at both the NHRU and University of Newcastle Rugby Club.
A more formal announcement of Graham’s exceptional life achievements and funeral details will be circulated in due course.
Condolences to Trish and family from all the participants of the Newcastle Hunter Rugby Zone.
We write this with great sadness,
Bill Clifton and Andy Fairfull
